Course Outline
Overview
In this course, we will take a step back to get an overall picture of God, His immeasurable grace, kindness and love towards us, and our appropriate response to His invitation to be in a personal relationship with Him, hear His voice, and work with Him to see His purposes fulfilled. Sessions can be found here.
Week 1: It starts with Jesus: He is the Way!
Without a relationship with Jesus, it is impossible to know the will of God.
Week 2: Why did Jesus come to earth as man?
Jesus came to reveal who the Father is and He demonstrated how we can do what He did!
Week 3: Am I a brother or sister of Jesus, or His servant?
Jesus calls us brothers and sisters, but unless we are also His servants, we will not put His agenda first. He laid His life down, so should we.
Week 4: How does God use man to establish His will?
The Bible is full of examples where God worked through men and women to make His will known to them and those around them. We will look for patterns in those relationships.
Week 5: I am just an ordinary person: does God want to use me?
Every single person has a calling on their life. We will explore how we would know to what God is calling us.
Week 6: Are you at the centre of your life, or is God?
God has a purpose for you and it may not be the same as your plans. The only solution is dying to yourself.
Week 7 Does God have specific plans for me?
We will explore how we can find out what God's plans are, and how I can adjust every area of my life to fit into His plans.
Week 8: God is the starter and the finisher.
The journey seems daunting until we start to understand that God is the starter and the finisher! He takes initiative and doesn't set us up for failure.
Week 9: How do I hear God?
To do the will of God I need to hear His voice. We will explore the different ways God has spoken in the Bible and is still speaking to His children today.
Week 10: God always speaks with a purpose.
He is intensely involved in the process. Working with Him results in unspeakable joy, peace and blessing as our lives are transformed to His glory.
